Is getting in shape on your “to-do” list for 2025 but your pelvic floor dysfunction is stopping you?
Do you have to avoid coughing, sneezing and a really good belly laugh??
Have your nice pants been relegated to the back of the draw?
Are your hips and/or lower back stiff?
Do you try to do your pelvic floor exercises but you’re not sure if you are doing them right?
Do you struggle to even find your Pelvic floor??
The Pelvic Floor Plan is for you.
If this sounds like you – know you are not alone; Pelvic Floor dysfunction affects 60% of UK women according to the Royal College of Obstetricians and Gynaecologists (RCOG) (April 2024)
– that is more than one in 2!
Whether your problems started in pregnancy, menopause, or just out of the blue – rebalancing the pelvic floor, it’s surrounding muscles and your whole body could be the answer.
The Pelvic Floor Plan is a whole-body plan that looks not only at your pelvic floor (Kegels don’t work for everyone) but at the surrounding muscles too.
The plan aims to bring balance back to your body.
Within the PFP we will help you to reconnect with your pelvic floor and understand how it should function throughout the day. We will also work on your posture, flexibility, and strength to help you regain control.
The PFP is a 10-week Pilates-based course that aims to give you back control of your body. The course is supported by short videos to help you build daily practice into your life so you can strengthen for the long term.
The PFP will start on Saturday 11th January at 10:30am – it will run for 10 weeks.
Pelvic Floor dysfunction increases with age this combined with how frequently Pelvic Floor dysfunction occurs can lead many ladies to believe that “it is one of those things” “something we have to live with” and “something we need to learn to manage” but pelvic floor dysfunction comes from muscles that are not functioning in an optimal way whether that be underworking or overworking – (Yes you can get pelvic floor dysfunction from it working too hard too).
This is true not only of the muscles of the pelvic floor – poor slouching posture with tight shoulders can lead to poor pelvic floor function, as can short, shallow breathing which uses the muscles of the upper chest, neck and back reducing the movement of the diaphragm which impact the function of the pelvic floor (aka the pelvic diaphragm).
The PFP will take you on a whole body tour supporting you to learn about your body, how it is functioning, and how you need it to adapt to achieve optimal function. This is why you have homework – we know it might feel like heading back to school by asking you to practice every day but these short sessions will help you more than you know. To get the most out of these sessions you need to be working at a level that gives you a little muscle fatigue. This will encourage your muscles to strengthen and re-align for optimal function.
Some of the in-class and homework exercises work better with small pieces of equipment such as a pilates ball or resistance bands. With this in mind, we have put together a bag with the things that you will need to help you practice away from the studio – these can be purchased along with your course at check out (please be aware although we recommend these pieces of equipment they are not essential).
Final thing; this is the first time we have run a specific Pelvic floor course and we will be looking for feedback from our participants to help us improve the course with each delivery. With this in mind, we are offering this first course at the discounted price of £99.
A “normal” 10 week course at the studio would be £105 plus the additional support you will be recieving as part of this course the future expected price of this course will be £149.00
